Everything you need to know before your treatment
Choosing anti-wrinkle treatment is an important decision, and it's natural to have questions. Below are answers to the questions I am asked most often. If you can't find the answer you're looking for, please get in touch and I'll be happy to help.
How long do anti-wrinkle injections last?
Most clients enjoy results for 3–6 months, although this varies depending on the individual, treatment area, muscle strength and lifestyle.
When will I see my results?
You may begin to notice changes within 3–5 days, with full results developing over 10–14 days.
Does the treatment hurt?
Most clients describe the injections as feeling like a small pinprick. Treatment is quick and generally very well tolerated.
Is there any downtime?
There is very little downtime. You may experience: Mild redness Small bumps Mild swelling Occasional bruising These usually settle within a few hours to a few days.
How long does the appointment take?
Your appointment usually takes 20–30 minutes, including consultation, assessment and clinical photography where appropriate.
Is a consultation required?
Yes. Every client receives a full consultation before treatment. This includes reviewing your medical history, discussing your concerns, assessing your facial anatomy and ensuring treatment is safe and appropriate.
Can I have treatment on the same day as my consultation?
No. Anti-wrinkle injections are Prescription Only Medicines (POMs) in the UK. Following your consultation, as a qualified prescriber i will assess your suitability and issue a prescription. Once your prescription has been sorted and the product ordered specifically for you, a separate treatment appointment will be arranged.
Who is not suitable for treatment?
Treatment may not be suitable if you:
Are pregnant or breastfeeding
Have certain neurological or muscle disorders
Have an active infection in the treatment area
Have certain allergies to the product
Are medically unsuitable following consultation
Suitability is always assessed before treatment
.
What should I avoid after treatment?
For the first 24 hours avoid: Rubbing or massaging the area Strenuous exercise Saunas and steam rooms Excessive alcohol Lying flat for around 4 hours Full aftercare advice is always provided.
Will I still look natural?
Absolutely. My aim is to achieve refreshed, natural-looking results while maintaining facial movement and expression. Every treatment is tailored to your facial anatomy and personal goals.
Can anti-wrinkle injections prevent wrinkles?
Yes. Reducing repeated muscle movement can help slow the formation of deeper expression lines over time, making treatment an excellent preventative option for suitable clients.
Are anti-wrinkle injections safe? When carried out by a qualified medical professional following a thorough consultation and clinical assessment, anti-wrinkle injections have an excellent safety profile. As with any medical procedure, there are potential risks and side effects, all of which will be discussed before treatment.
